Message from the Prelate (4 November 2018)

The Prelate reminds us with Scripture that "our hope is in heaven," a truth we should contemplate during the month of November.

Rome, 4 November 2018

We began November by celebrating the Solemnity of All Saints, and, the next day, the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed. These celebrations remind us that our hope is in Heaven (cf. Col 1:5); a hope that lights up our steps on this earth. It tells us that the world we live in will one day be transformed into “new heavens and a new earth” (2 Pet 3:13). It also tells us that our daily activities have a meaning that goes beyond what we can see directly; as St Josemaría said, they become vibrant with eternity if we do them for love of God and other people.

Another reality that fills us with consolation is the Communion of Saints. How encouraging it is to know that we are never alone, that in Christ we are one single Body! We are building up the Church, and specifically the Work, wherever we are: all together at the same time and everywhere. We are supporting one another! Along these same lines, I ask you especially for prayers for the 34 new deacons of the Prelature who were ordained yesterday in Rome.
