The German television station DW (Deutsche Welle) has broadcast a documentary which is misleading and which includes false and unsubstantiated allegations against Opus Dei.

As of this morning, the Catholic Church has a new Blessed: the Spanish chemist and researcher Guadalupe Ortiz de Landázuri (1916-1975), a member of Opus Dei who was beatified in a ceremony presided over by Cardinal Becciu, prefect of the Congregation of the Causes of the Saints, held in Madrid at 11 am this morning at the Vistalegre Arena.

This evening, Pope Francis confirmed Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz as the new Prelate of Opus Dei, following his election earlier in the day during the elective congress. He is the third successor to Saint Josemaria.

This morning in Rome, the process foreseen for the election and naming of the prelate of Opus Dei has begun, with the first plenary meeting of the women’s council of the prelature, called the central Advisory.
