Guadalupe Ortiz de Landázuri (1916-1975), the Spanish chemist who brought the message of Opus Dei to Mexico, has been beatified in Madrid. In a letter, Pope Francis wrote that she was an example of holiness in "normality”

Groups from all over the world can be seen on the streets of Madrid, visiting places connected with Guadalupe's life, praying before her mortal remains at the Royal Oratory of the Knight of Grace, or visiting an exhibition about her at the Tajamar School.

The Prelate of Opus Dei, Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz, went on Friday to the Royal Oratory of Caballero de Gracia, located on the Gran Via in Madrid, to pray before the mortal remains of the one who tomorrow will be Blessed Guadalupe Ortiz de Landázuri.

Rev. Antoni Pujals i Ginebreda was born in Terrassa, Spain, in 1955. Ordained a priest in Rome in 1985, he is the Vicar General of the Prelature.

Jorge Gisbert was born in Alcoy, Alicante (Spain) in 1969. He was ordained a priest in 2004. In 2019 he was named Central Vicar Secretary of Opus Dei.

Monsignor Mariano Fazio has been appointed as Auxiliary Vicar; Rev. Antoni Pujals as Vicar General; and Rev. Jorge Gisbert as Central Vicar Secretary.
