New co-directors for the Caribbean Region Communications Office

Mónica Zambrano and Daniel Villarroel are taking over as directors of the Communications Office in a year dedicated to Hope and in the midst of preparations for the Centenary of Opus Dei.

The Regional Vicar of Opus Dei, Fr. Ignacio Rodríguez Mayz, appointed Mónica Zambrano and Daniel Villarroel as co-directors of the Opus Dei Communications Office for Venezuela and the Caribbean.

Mónica and Daniel worked on the Conversations Project and the campaign for the 50th anniversary of St. Josemaría's visit to Venezuela, respectively. Both of these young professionals have the knowledge and experience necessary to continue spreading the message that St. Josemaría left to the universal Church in their social life, in their religious convictions, through social media and other means of communication.

We are excited about finding new ways of spreading the message of Opus Dei, knowing that this message is relevant to all times and that it echoes in the lives of so many people,” says Daniel, who will serve as the team's creative Communications Director.

For Monica, who will lead the Communications Office from the organizational strategic perspective, this is a challenge they take on with enthusiasm and commitment, "seeking to enlighten the lives of each person in Venezuela and in the Caribbean."

Gretta Sánchez Alvarado, who directed the office for five years, now takes on new responsibilities in the Central Advisory Communications team in Rome. “This new team”, she says, “will help us to go even further in creativity, in improving our strategy skills and will most definitely lead to the development of a stronger team. With the Centenary of Opus Dei now close at hand, the team will allow us to better understand the charism of the Work, to rectify whatever is needed and to continue trying to do good to those around us.

Father Ignacio relies on this new team to continue cooperating in the Church's evangelizing mission through close communication of the charism of Opus Dei. An exciting task, especially during this Jubilee Year of Hope.
