While Teaching a Class on Ice Cream

I teach baking and confectionary classes at an institute, and I pray to Dora for favors daily, asking for little things, especially because she knows this field well and she always helps me. One time in particular in which I noted her intercession happened when I was teaching a class about ice cream.

When I entered the classroom, I realized that the electricity was out, meaning that I wouldn’t be able to use the chiller (a machine which freezes food rapidly) and thus, I wouldn't be able to give the class. Furthermore, I also needed to use other tools that require electricity, such as a mixer and a blender. I couldn’t postpone the class however, because that would have meant wasting the raw material. I should also add that in this part of the country, electricity is not very stable and when it goes out, you never know how much time it will take before it comes back.

Against all odds, I entrusted this petition to Dora, praying that the electricity would come back while we were in the mise en place stage of the class, setting up all the ingredients and materials that we would need. I proceeded with the class, beginning with artisanal ice cream which is whipped by hand. When the mix was ready, one of the ladies from the institute approached me to tell me that the electricity had come back! I asked Dora that the power would remain stable in order to finish the class with success and, thanks to Dora, everything turned out marvelously in the end.
