The workshop was themed around Pope Francis’s call in “Amoris Letitia” for family accompaniment. This term is different from family support. The workshop explored practical ways and pastoral care in which education providers and professionals can practically accompany families. It explored new and emerging challenges facing families and the need to align our interventions to reflect these realities. Africa has a chance to share what is peculiar and unique about African families and how accompaniment would look like. Kenya was the 3rd most represented country following Spain and Mexico. Other African countries represented were Nigeria, Ivory Coast and DRC Congo.
