New Saint Josemaría website

A web page dedicated to St. Josemaría will be on-line on June 26. The site’s launching is timed to coincide with the first celebration of the feast day of Opus Dei’s founder.

The new site, www.josemariaescriva.info , offers news and documentation on the life, teachings and writings of Saint Josemaría. The saint’s message has already helped hundreds of thousands of people find the happiness of Christian life, leading the Pope to describe him as “the saint of the ordinary” at his canonization last October 6. The site, which will be available in Spanish, English, and Italian, aims to give Saint Josemaría’s message a yet wider reach.

Worldwide devotion is a section of the new site that presents accounts of favors attributed to the intercession of Saint Josemaría: conversions, decisions to go deeper in the Christian faith, healings, material favors, family problems solved. Saint Josemaría’s prayer card can be found in this section, as well as a form for sending in your own testimonies.

The section His Teachings includes a page called To Follow Christ , featuring Gospel passages from Our Lord’s life with commentary by Opus Dei’s founder. This section also offers summaries of the main aspects of Saint Josemaría’s message, such as the Christian vocation to holiness, sanctification of work, or divine filiation. In addition, the section presents testimonies, such as that of Roger Bissonnette, a schoolbus driver from Québec: “I was practicing my faith, going to Mass every Sunday, but it never occurred to me that I could seek holiness. That, I thought, was only for priests and religious. But when my wife gave me some of Saint Josemaría’s homilies to read, I woke up to the fact that I too could become a saint. It was great news.”

The Biographical profile section includes a summary of the life of Saint Josemaría, articles on his canonization and information about his writings.

Under his inspiration features some of the many initiatives that Saint Josemaría gave personal impulse to and others that were inspired by his example and teachings. In this section one can read, for instance, reports on Condoray, a women’s training center in Peru or Strathmore College, a school in Kenya.

The Documentation section contains homilies and addresses of John Paul II about St. Josemaría, and numerous other documents about him.
