New Delegation of Central United States

In a decree dated August 15th, the Prelate of Opus Dei has united the Delegations of Texas and Chicago into the new Delegation of Central United States.

As the Prelate of Opus Dei, Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz, explained in a letter on January 30, 2021, a study has been carried out regarding the organization of the Prelature's circumscriptions, with a view to better spur forward and coordinate our apostolic undertakings. Part of this project involves simplifying organizational and governmental structures, which will allow greater agility and fruitfulness in the apostolic work and more attention to caring for people.

In this context, the Prelate has issued a decree on August 15, 2022, reorganizing the circumscriptions in the United States. Specifically, he has united the Delegations of Texas and Chicago into a new Delegation of Central United States. It will comprise all the territory that formerly was part of the Delegations of Texas and Chicago, namely: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The seat of the delegation will be in Chicago.
