New Vicar of Opus Dei for the U.S.

Father Javier del Castillo has been appointed U.S. Vicar of the Prelature of Opus Dei.

Father del Castillo was born in Mexico and raised in various cities in the U.S. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union in New York (1998) and worked for some years in that field. He was ordained as a priest of Opus Dei in 2005 and earned a Doctorate in Philosophy (Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome, 2007). From 2015 until the present, Father del Castillo has served as Vicar of Opus Dei in the Midwest.
