New Region of East and South Asia

On 20 March 2023, the Prelate of Opus Dei has established the new region of East and South Asia

Following the plan announced in a letter of 30 January 2021, the Prelate of Opus Dei has established a new region on 20 March 2023. The aim of this new region is to coordinate the activities of formation held in some countries of South, East and South-east Asia (excluding the Philippines and Indonesia) where members live and work, with a greater focus on looking after people and the growth of the apostolate.

The name of the new region is East and South Asia. The regional vicar is Fr. Ralph Valdés. He lives in Singapore, where he carries out his pastoral work. The members of the councils that coordinate the women's and men's apostolates live in different cities of the region. They will have their main office in Singapore.
