Some 150 people attended the Anniversary Mass of St Josemaria at St John’s Cathedral in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 6, 2019. It was the second time that the anniversary Mass of St Josemaria was held in Kuala Lumpur and in the same venue.

This year, Archbishop Julien Leow graced the occasion as the main celebrant, with two concelebrant priests of Opus Dei, Fr Avelino Marin, Regional Vicar of Opus Dei in Southeast Asia, and Fr Michael Chan.

In his homily, the Archbishop preached on the message of St Josemaría, earnestly encouraging daily the lay faithful to seek holiness in all the ordinary activities and events of their lives. He stressed on the need to live this message of seeking holiness in ordinary life even in environments where living one’s faith could be more challenging such as in Malaysia where Catholics are a minority.
