Mr Jose Escriva was Josemaria's dad. His business collapsed, and he had to take a job in Logroño. The family moved there in 1915. This segment is from an animated film on St. Josemaría's early life.

In late November, Bishop Javier Echevarría made a quick visit to Fatima and Santiago de Compostela to present his petitions before our Lady and to gain the Jubilee Indulgence at the tomb of St. James.

On November 13, Bishop Javier Echevarría ordained 34 faithful of Opus Dei to the diaconate. They will receive priestly ordination in May. With homily from the Mass and names of those ordained.

In an apostolic exhortation on the Word of God with conclusions from the 2008 Synod, the Pope points, among other saints, to St. Josemaría as "a ray of light streaming forth from the word of God."

St. Josemaría Escrivá was canonized on the 6th of October, 2002. From 1928 until his death in 1975, he preached that all men and women are called to holiness. His statue in the Vatican reminds thousands of Catholic faithful of this message (1:40').

Death is hard, St. Josemaría admits, but it is the step that opens the doors of life. And so we Christians can face death with hope (00:52’’).
