A City of London lawyer organised a mountain trip to help a stressed friend in 2001. Twenty-five years on, it's an international fellowship spanning 14 countries.

He spent six days in Guatemala, from 4 to 9 August. One theme came up in nearly every gathering: that happiness requires a heart in love, not necessarily an easy life. Having met with priests, young people, university students, and families in Guatemala, Msgr. Ocáriz now continues his pastoral trip on to Honduras and El Salvador.

Some lives shine not because they are flawless, but because they refuse to give up. Such was the life of Pa Agapitus Mary Chike Okigbo, who passed on 2 August 2024 at the age of 95. His long journey was marked by providence, quiet perseverance, and a grace he deeply recognized as coming from God.

Abi grew up in Perth, in western Australia. There she studied Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and developed a lot of hobbies, which, however, did not fulfil her completely: “So, I had all this time and had all this money and all these opportunities. But I felt like I was wasting my time... Well, not wasting my time, but wasting my life!”

Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz, prelate of Opus Dei, is on a pastoral trip through Central America that began in Guatemala City from 4-9 August. He visited Honduras (San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa) from 10-12 August, and he will now continue to the final leg of the journey in El Salvador, ending on 15 August. In his 12 August general audience, Pope Leo XIV continued the catechetical cycle on the Second Vatican Council, speaking about the dogmatic constitution “Sacrosanctum Concilium” and the liturgical year.

After visiting the patroness of Honduras, the Prelate of Opus Dei met with young people from all over the country and encouraged them not to be afraid to live the faith in their environments and to discover how worthwhile it is to seek — and to find — Jesus Christ.
