According to a statement signed by the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Archbishop Lucius Ugorji and the Secretary, Bishop Donatus Ogun, “all Catholics in Nigeria and all people of goodwill” are called upon to observe these nine days of prayer which will culminate on the Solemnity of St. Peter and Paul with Holy Masses asking for “peace and healing in Nigeria, the repose of the dead, the comfort of victims, divine protection” and conversion of hearts.
