During the conference held in Rome March 12-14 for the centennial of Alvaro del Portillo, a number of people testified to his influence on their own life and on the life of the Church.

The seventh video in the series "Finding Christ in the Middle of the World." Australians from all backgrounds speak about the message of Saint Josemaria and its impact on their daily lives.

At Christmas 1972, Saint Josemaria takes a figure of the Christ Child in his arms and blesses faithful of Opus Dei in Rome.

"Have the courage to teach children austerity. If not, you won’t accomplish anything," St. Josemaria insisted. A new article in the series on the family, of which 5 are now available in English.

In a get-together in London in 1985, Bishop Alvaro del Portillo encourages people to trust in God's help to bring those around them back to him.

"Imposing things by force, in an authoritarian manner, is not the right way to teach. The ideal attitude of parents lies more in becoming their children’s friends."
