We regret to announce the death of Fr. Joseph Gabiola, known to many in Great Britain, Kenya and elsewhere.

For someone who has helped hundreds of hopeless young mothers, Teofasia Karimi is not one to sing her own praises. She hastily brushes away questions about her, choosing to instead concentrate on the myriad problems affecting girls and young mothers in Kilifi County.

A new series of books for mental prayer has just hit the shelves. Titled "Speak to Me", the series penned by Kevin de Souza targets the youth. Kevin has worked in the field of education for close to twenty years. His interaction with young people and their parents has helped him to understand the different challenges faced by the youth.

As we prepare for the Synod of the Family that Pope Francis has called for later in the year, we are posting some videos prepared by Strathmore University. They reflect the day to day experiences of several employees with their families. They speak about their effort to raise children and to keep the marriage relationship going through the ups and downs of life. They are not special cases but they may be useful reminders for some of us of what it takes to raise a family.

It was on Sunday 17th August 2014, while driving some ladies from Ewaso Residence to celebrate a birthday party in Namanga (along the Kenya/Tanzania border), I had a rare experience.

Together with the Church and many popes, St. Josemaria always taught that we should use the best of everything we have when it comes to dealing with Jesus present in the Blessed Eucharist. For the feast of the Corpus Christi ("Body and Blood of Christ") this year, Strathmore School did just that: they laid the best they had - including a carpet of flowers.

The feast day of St. Josemaria was celebrated for the first time in Lusaka (Zambia) with a Mass celebrated by the nuncio, Archbishop Julio Murat, on 30th June 2015. There were other masses in other East African capitals including Dar es Salam (Tanzania) on 27 June and Kampala (Uganda) on 26 June.

AK searched on the internet for a novena he could use to pray for a job. He came across the Novena for Work to St. Josemaria on the St. Josemaria Institute (www.stjosemaria.org) and tried it.
