With the World Youth Day taking place in Panama next week, we offer excerpts from a homily preached by Blessed Alvaro del Portillo to a group of young people in 1985.

In 2016, around June/July, during the meeting after the priest’s class they agreed to go to the intercession of Don Alvaro. They called this initiative “Stress Alvaro”. They decided to say a prayer card to Don Alvaro every day at 8.00 a.m. followed by a Memorare.

Blessed Alvaro del Portillo was beatified on September 27, 2014. Here is a favor received in connection with his beatification.

I recently received a favor from Don Alvaro. I am a land surveyor by profession and I do my own private jobs – “freelancing’ is what it is called nowadays.

March 23 is the twenty fourth anniversary of Blessed Alvaro del Portillo's death. An excerpt from a letter he sent to the faithful of the Prelature on April 1, 1993.

A relative by marriage ran a reasonably successful business. With the onset of the economic crisis he was made bankrupt and arrested for fraud.
