Saturday 17th December 2022 was D-Day for a families’ get-together, hosted by the Musyokis’ at their residence in Kyumbi area of Machakos County (Kenya). The get-together had been organized by people from Machakos, and their families, who attend means of formation. It was an opportunity to get to know one another better and above all to have some fun. So, full of expectations for a day full of joy, coupled with meeting and making new friends, we all made our way to our host’s home, which is just a few kilometers from the famous Konza Technopolis.
The fun begun long before the get-together started with constant calls to Gerald asking for help with the directions to his house. Many got lost because of the numerous winding roads in the area and a mischievous google map pin. When we had all arrived, 33 of us, we were both inside and outside of the house, with a beehive of activity. One of the highlights was the game between the mothers with their daughters and the fathers with their sons. Interesting discoveries were made by the parents about their children.
Well, we ended up getting more than we bargained for. We had a lot of fun, had a great lunch cum dinner, met and made new friends, chatted away merrily, played games and so by the time 8 pm came calling, we had all enjoyed a great get-together and yes indeed Christmas had come early.
We are all looking forward to the next one!
