During the first days of this month of November 2020 We had a day spiritual retreat in Bugala, the centre of Opus Dei for men in Kampala. A small group of university students came to have some days of reflection and prayer at the end of this complex year.

Esther Toranzo passes away

Esther Toranzo was a pioneer in many fields. She held a doctorate in Law from the Central University of Madrid. She joined Opus Dei in 1949. In 1952, she was amongst the first group of ladies who went to start the Work in England. She came to Kenya in 1965 to manage Kibondeni College, a Hospitality Institution for young women, which was in its infancy.

Confession during the pandemic

A few months ago my friend Mutheu and I were having a discussion about how much we were missing the good old days when we could go to Mass and confession with ease. With the Covid-19 pandemic, things had changed drastically and neither of us had ever imagined that a time would come when the very places we sought solace and spiritual strength from would now be listed as out of bounds for gatherings until further notice.
