4th Commandment: Honour your father and mother

The Old Testament presents the fourth commandment as follows: “Honour your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you” (Ex 20:12). It is a commandment that includes a promise from God: the promise to favour the child who loves his parents.

Your circle really starts when it ends

The point of the circle is to make space for Jesus to come into the concrete, personal details of your daily life. It shouldn’t end when the person giving it stops talking. In a sense, that’s when it starts: when you pray about it, think about what you heard, struggle to put it into practice, and bring it to your family and friends.
