Opus Dei

A series of questions from journalists about Opus Dei, answered by its founder St Josemaria Escriva, and published in the book Conversations with Msgr. Escriva (1968).

St Josemaría Conference is a half-day event marking 50 years that the message of St Josemaría has been lived in Australia.

It is now 40 years since Saint Josemaria's visit to Madrid during his catechetical trip to Spain and Portugal, in 1972.

When asked about the future of Opus Dei, Saint Josemaria says, "Opus Dei has just one thing, the desire to fulfill God's will through our ordinary work...If we're humble and don't stray from our goal, and if we're contemplatives in the street and the market-place, everything will go well."

1928, 1929, 1930… St Josemaria had to fulfil God’s will, but had no trained assistants, no money, and no patrons.
