Opus Dei

In order to love someone, we have to get to know them, converse with them, laugh and suffer with them. And this is what we need to do with Jesus Christ. St. Josemaría told him: “I believe in you, I hope in you, I love you, I long to be your friend…” (2:01)

We have a human ideal that becomes divine. New horizons of hope open up in our life and we come to the point of sacrificing willingly.

As a child, the Founder of Opus Dei loved to be told a story about robbers. Each time he was delighted to hear it again. And so it is with the Gospel which is always the same and alway new (Weekly video: 1 ’23”).

A family needs affection and supernatural vision when caring for a needy person. St. Josemaría tells a mother that her mentally-handicapped child will draw her closer to God (Weekly Vídeo: 02’22”).

As we see in the parable of the prodigal son, Christian life means returning every day to the Father's house (02’22’’).

In April 1934, Saint Josemaria composed a prayer to the Holy Spirit that he prayed frequently and encouraged others to pray.

The essential equality between men and women demands an understanding of the complementary roles which they play in the Church’s growth and in the progress of society.

How does Jesus approach us? Our Lord approaches us as he did his disciples: with affection, with naturalness, with patience in the face of our mistakes (0:59).
