Opus Dei

The Prelature of Opus Dei is committed to promoting the safety, welfare and protection of minors and vulnerable adults on the island of Ireland in accordance with the standards set out in "A Safe and Welcoming Church, Safeguarding Children Policy and Standards for the Catholic Church in Ireland" (2024), issued by the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland and with its own safeguarding policies.

This initiative began in Vigo (Galicia, Spain) to help little children approach Eucharistic adoration in order to pray and form a relationship with God from a young age. Little by little, it spread to other parishes in the city.

Pascale Barros (Chile) is a 22-year-old psychology student. She talks about what loving God means to her: letting herself be loved by Him.

The first commandment is key to our entire existence: it is the only possible foundation for a fulfilled human life. Love for God includes love for those whom God loves.

Any sport requires effort, but it brings enjoyment and opens up new possibilities. So it is with the Christian life: in the midst of combat and struggle, we can enjoy being with the Lord, growing and facing new challenges with Him.

The first students who took part in Opus Dei's work with young people didn't feel like they were adding one more good thing to their to-do lists: they felt like main characters in the story, and they wanted to blaze a trail. And we'll always need trailblazers.

They're “alarm clocks” in ordinary life, like the chime of your phone with a reminder, letting you know that God is there waiting for you.

All the sacraments make God present among us, but the Eucharist does so in a very special way.
