Princess Anne visits Baytree

Princess Anne visits Baytree, a London centre for the advancement of women inspired by the teachings of Blessed Josemaria Escriva. Baytree is in Lambeth, one of the poorer regions of London.

Women and children celebrating the 10th anniversary of an education centre for the disadvantaged had a right royal time on Wednesday when Princess Anne dropped in for a visit.

The Princess Royal joined those at Baytree Centre in Brixton Road to unveil a commemorative plaque. She met people taking part in the IT and English language training sessions at the centre, as well as the youngsters who joined in the after-school homework programme. The centre was set up 10 years ago to help unemployed and socially excluded women into work. It now boasts a successful youth programme and crèche for the under-twos.

Princess Anne was given a tour of the facilities and even popped into a dance lesson for youngsters.
