Opus Dei -- the super-secret religious society that's in the phone book

Given the surprising media attention paid to a member of Opus Dei running for office in the recent federal elections, Charles Lewis, journalist at the National Post, interviewed the Vicar of Opus Dei for Canada to help shed light on the reality of this institution of the Catholic Church.

« We teach people how to deepen their knowledge of the basic principles of Judeo-Christian ethics”, says Msgr. Frederick Dolan, the Vicar of Opus Dei for Canada.

Its spirituality focuses on developing a deep relationship with God through ordinary work. “We show people how to put all the pieces of their life together and insert God in all those spheres."

Msgr. Dolan underlines the fact that Opus Dei will never say a word about politics to its members. "Their political opinions are entirely up to them".
