Transcript: Sanctifying the world through donuts. Right? That could be the opening line.

Hi everyone, my name is Chelsea and I'm an entrepreneur in Trinidad, and I own a business called Doughbomb Donuts. Really it's my pride and joy, and I'm sanctifying the world through donuts. By profession, I am a lawyer and a project manager and while studying abroad in Ireland, eating a donut, especially on a cold winter's night, always made me feel great love and the warmth of my own Caribbean country. Upon returning home during the COVID-19 pandemic, in my own turmoil of trying to find employment or think of what was my next step, I decided to try recipe after recipe until I got the perfect one, which we use today. That led to the growth and the great success of Doughbomb Donuts two years later.

A big part of our Caribbean culture is food. In fact, every lime we have is centered on food. A "lime" is a word we have in Trinidad which refers to hanging out or spending time with our family and friends. And guess what? We lime a lot with food. You might be thinking, "Donuts? But what's the big deal?" As Caribbean people, we are always enriching our culture through the culture of others and we morph it into something that really becomes our own. So for example we have the recognizable flavours like crème brulée or double chocolate s'mores, but what beats a sorrel donut? Like a hibiscus flower or even a coconut donut. Like, it's delicious, full with flavour and of course full with a lot of love.

Saint Josemaria's message really resonates with me because I can sanctify my work, sanctify myself, and sanctify others. And one of my friends who helped me in the beginning of this business making donuts always reminded me to have someone in mind, or every customer in mind, when making the donuts: when we're rolling them, when we're cutting them, when we're filling them, decorating, and of course delivering it to them. I do this to the best of my ability as an act of service to others and of course a service to God. So we're helping people do their job really well by building community and team spirit in the workplace. Food is a great motivator, and many of our customers enjoy a great midweek (or end of week) sweet treat at their office, which they share with each other. At Doughbomb, our aim is to spread love and joy with every bite, and that's how from this twin island of Trinidad and Tobago, I'm sanctifying the world one donut at a time.

[My aunt] told me once that, like, the experience of eating... Like, if she had to make a blueberry compote, she would make it just like that because that's how, at home, she would make it, you know? Like, fresh, you know. It's not... It doesn't have a bunch of preservatives; it's fresh. She always said that.
