After his visit to Milan, the Prelate of Opus Dei invites us to continue praying for the revision of the Statutes, his upcoming pastoral trips, and the Church.

My dear children: may Jesus watch over my daughters and sons for me!

As I mentioned, at the end of last month the second meeting of experts from the Holy See and the Work took place, to study (as the Pope asked us) possible changes to the Statutes of the Prelature. The next meeting is scheduled for mid-September. Let us continue to pray for the outcome of this work.

On June 28, on my way to Milan, I was able to bless, in Carrara, a statue of Our Lady, Mater Pulchrae Dilectionis, commissioned by your sisters and brothers in the United States, fulfilling a long-standing wish of our Father. Later, in Milan, I had the joy of meeting with many people who, with great generosity and sacrifice, promote and support schools with Christian inspiration in Italy.

In a few days, I will embark on a trip to some South American countries, starting in Chile. As with everything, I count on the help of your prayer.

At the same time, the thoughts and prayers of all of us naturally reach out to the rest of the world, especially to places where the Church is suffering the most in its members. Let us not fail to reflect on and live what St. Josemaría wrote to us: “My children, we cannot look only at the Work: we look first and always at the holy Church” (Letter 14 September 1951, no. 27).

Your Father blesses you with all his affection.
