Bisi Falodun (II): Meeting Opus Dei

Bisi recounts her initial encounter with Opus Dei at the old Wavecrest Secretariat College in Lagos, Nigeria. Bisi was glad to have met Opus Dei through her relatives who lived close by the Centre. Usually, on entering the serene and cheerful environment of the centres of Opus Dei, some people exclaim, "Wow! You mean this kind of place exists here?" This initial excitement was lost to twelve-year-old Bisi. However, years later, she narrates the soothing feeling she experienced at her visit to the Centre.

St Josemaria says, "Your spiritual life is worth what your prayer life is worth."

Bisi grew in love with God through the fulfillment of her Christian duties, and found companionship with Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

Chinua Achebe wisely stated that, "A child who washed his hands well, will eat with Kings." Indeed! Some experiences like Bisi's, are better experienced than narrated. In meeting Opus Dei, Bisi finds the fulfillment of her destiny (as they say in this part of the world). Her contact with the Work led her to be an Apostle of that first Church she so desired to be a part of.
