On 31 May, the Church celebrates the feast of our Lady visiting her cousin Elizabeth. "Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb! And how have I deserved that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" (Lk 1:42)

Making a pilgrimage to Our Lady in May has a long history in the Church. This year, although we may not be able to travel physically to these places, we can still do so in our hearts... and with a little help from technology.

Pope Francis invites everyone to pray the Rosary with special devotion during the month of May, and offers two prayers to our Lady that can be recited after the Litany.

In 2006, then-Cardinal Bergoglio testified to the impact made on his life by seeing the Holy Father praying the Rosary with deep piety.

While commenting on the custom of praying the rosary, Saint Josemaria recalls his friendship with Sister Lucia, one of the three visionaries of Fatima. "When I was in Portugal I went to see a friend of mine whom I love very much... It was Sor Lucia. It was great hearing her talk about the Rosary."

One December morning in 1931, Fr. Josemaría dashed off this small book in one sitting, just after celebrating Mass. He poured into these pages an example of his way of meditating the mysteries of the life of Jesus and Mary, and of reciting the Rosary. Parting with his reader, he confides, “My friend: I have told you just part of my secret. It is up to you, with God’s help, to discover the rest. Take courage. Be faithful. Become little (...) If you say the Rosary in this way, you will learn to pray well.”
