A new issue of Romana, the official bulletin of the prelature of Opus Dei, is now available in English on the Romana website. It covers the first half of 2025. “From the Holy See” includes some pontifical documents, both from Francis and Leo XIV, and from the Roman Curia, on issues relevant to the Church’s mission, as well as pastoral guidelines of special interest to the lay faithful and the clergy.
This issue devotes space to the 10th Ordinary General Congress held in Rome, with a chronicle of its proceedings. On the occasion of this congress, the central and regional governing bodies of the prelature—the general council, the central advisory, and the prelature's regional commissions and advisories worldwide—which assist the Prelate in his governance are renewed.
Romana also provides information about the Prelate's activities, including two conferences he gave in Spain, and several events in Zaragoza in March commemorating the centenary of St. Josemaría's priestly ordination. It also covers the audience granted to the Prelate by Pope Leo XIV in May. The issue further includes several articles and interviews with the Prelate published in international media.
The “News” section reports on the activities of the Auxiliary Vicar of the Prelature and various significant events, such as the priestly ordination of twenty members of Opus Dei, the pastoral assignments entrusted to priests of the prelature in different dioceses, the progress of the canonization causes of Bishop Adolfo Rodríguez Vidal and Bishop Juan Larrea Holguín, as well as other pastoral, cultural, and social initiatives in countries around the world. It also includes a section with financial information about the central offices and other projects in Rome, and about the Australian region and various apostolic initiatives organized by members of Opus Dei in Kenya, Spain, Chile, and Peru.
The volume also has a section dedicated to Saint Josemaría including the spread of his devotion, new publications about his figure, and cultural activities linked to his spiritual legacy.
Finally, in the “Study” section, Professor Enrique Fuster, from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, presents a reflection on “Narration and Evangelization in Saint Josemaría’s Teachings.”
Romana is a free digital publication available in PDF, ePub and Mobi (Kindle) formats.
