Opus Dei

Each year a group of Irish students organizes a work camp to help needy people in St. Petersburg by refurbishing their dwellings. The work camp has also included students from Finland, the U.S., Lithuania, and Latvia. Joe Flanagan relates his memories of the camp.

Loads of mud and little sleep were well worth the chance to be with the Pope, for a group of New York-area girls who went to World Youth Day this summer.

After the decrees of the miracles were announced, the Prelate of Opus Dei mentioned that the approval of a miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Josemaria is a cause of great joy for him. And he added, "Today, with Christmas only a few days away, I beg God to grant us the miracle of peace, a peace that sometimes seems impossible to attain..."

Bishop Javier Echevarria, the Prelate of Opus Dei, sent a letter to the Vicar of Opus Dei for the United States, Rev. Arne A. Panula, about the tragic events today.

The Murray Hill Institute held its second annual conference entitled "Integrity and Ethics in the Workplace," from October 12-13, 2001. Held at a hotel a few miles from "Ground Zero," the conference, like Manhattan itself, was keenly attuned to the thousands who died on September 11, 2001.
