On this day, 19 April

On 19 April 1961, the diocesan process of discovery of his life and virtues concluded in Madrid.

On 15 July 1943, Isidoro Zorzano died in Madrid with a reputation for holiness. Five years later, on 11 October 1948, then the feast of the Motherhood of Our Lady, the first session of the informative process on his life and virtues took place in the diocese of Madrid, presided over by Bishop Eijo y Garay in the chapel of the episcopal palace. Over twelve years later, on 19 April 1961 the closing session was presided over by the same bishop at the same venue. Declarations from a total of 71 witnesses were taken, among them St. Josemaría Escrivá. On this anniversary, we offer a Newsletter highlighting Isidoro’s true love for those in need. On 21 December 2016 Isidoro was declared Venerable.
