Holy Week Reflections at St Joseph’s Church (Victoria Street) (14–16 April 2025)

During Holy Week, the priests of Opus Dei led evening reflections at St Joseph’s Church (Victoria Street). Each reflection offered a distinct and timely perspective on Christ’s Passion, focusing on mission, faithfulness, and perseverance.

Holy Monday – The Mission of God’s Servant
Led by Fr Ralph Valdes

Fr Ralph reflected on Christ as the suffering servant who embraces His mission with clarity and love. Jesus did not flee from His hour. He offered His life freely for our redemption. We too are called to discover and live out our mission, especially within the family, offering our daily sacrifices with trust and purpose. Our Lady of Sorrows too embraced her mission in spite of the suffering that came with it.

Holy Tuesday – The Faithfulness of the Servant
Led by Fr Joseph Duran

Fr Joseph spoke about the steadfast love of God, who remains faithful even when we falter. Jesus, in His mercy, always calls us back to Him. Through stories of reconciliation, Fr Joseph reminded us that God’s love is ever-present and His faithfulness never fails. We are invited to renew our commitment daily and become bearers of hope in our homes and communities.

Holy Wednesday – Perseverance & Trust in God's plan, even in the face of Adversity
Led by Fr Joe Lopez

Fr Joe reflected on the perseverance of Christ, who endures suffering with trust in the Father’s plan. The crucifix stands as a powerful reminder of love and unyielding strength. In our own trials, we are called to persevere through prayer and surrender, drawing strength from the example of Our Lady and the presence of our guardian angels.

These timely reflections deepened participants’ prayer and contemplation during Holy Week, offering meaningful insights for living the faith and above all, preparing spiritually for Easter.
