My dear children: may Jesus watch over my daughters and sons for me!
Let us continue praying for the apostolic efforts throughout the world, and now specifically for the new region of Colombia and Ecuador. Also remember to accompany me with your prayer on the trip that I will undertake within a few days to several countries.
Taking advantage of the feast of Saint Mary Magdalene that we will celebrate on the upcoming 22nd, I would like us to accept with renewed enthusiasm Jesus’ invitation to conversion. This is a permanent need, since its motive and impulse has to be permanent: love for God and, through Him and in Him, for others.
We are all convinced – we all should be – that we need to be converted. But this doesn’t make us sad, since it means setting out once again for the Father’s house (cf. Lk 15:11-32). As Saint Josemaria assures us: “Awareness that God is our Father brings joy to our conversion” (Christ is Passing By, no. 64).
The joy of conversion is the joy of love, of a love that is a response to God’s Love for us. Therefore to achieve the conversion that we need, above all we need to ask God for it: “Convert us, O Lord, to thee, and we shall be converted (Lam 5:21).I ask you to pray for the victims, their families and all the people affected by the floods in Europe, especially in Germany, Belgium and Holland. Let us ask our Lady to assist the efforts underway to locate those who are missing.
Your Father blesses you with all his affection,
