Opus Dei

In his 10 August general audience, Pope Francis continued his catechesis on old age with a reflection about hopeful waiting and old age as a time projected toward fulfillment.

Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz met with faithful of the Prelature in various encounters during his visit to Barcelona from August 5 to 7. He also visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy, as St. Josemaría did on many occasions. On Sunday, August 7, in the afternoon, the Prelate of Opus Dei returned to Rome.

Fr John Flader, a priest of Opus Dei, dedicated his new book on the afterlife to an inspiring young woman who passed away on the very day he finished writing it.

Let us pray for small and medium sized businesses; in the midst of economic and social crisis, may they find ways to continue operating, and serving their communities.

A young architect with devotion to St. Josemaría asked his parish priest to celebrate a Mass in his honour around the 26th June. This was one of the close to 300 Masses that were celebrated in most parts of Nigeria. Brian, currently heads a youth-led environmental advocacy group teaching mainly young learners about preserving the environment with the use of crafts, and multimedia as learning tools!

In 2009 Gerardo, who is 31-years-old and deaf and blind, traveled the Way of Saint James from Roncesvalles to Compostela on a tandem tricycle. This was the start of a group of volunteers who guide their copilots suffering from various types of limitations on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
