Opus Dei

Last October 19th marked 40 years of the arrival of Opus Dei in Nigeria with the good news that God calls everyone to holiness and that this calling can be lived in the middle of the world, in the workplace in civil society and in the family.

Masses of thanksgiving were celebrated in Nigeria on October 20: on that day and month in the year of the Lord 1965, the first two members of Opus Dei arrived in Nigeria bringing the good news that everyone is called to sanctity in the middle of the world without leaving the work place or changing status.

On October 23 the Pope closed the synod of bishops that was dedicated to the Eucharist. This, the final message of the synod, was posted on the Vatican's web site.
