Some faithful of Opus Dei together with some Cooperators and others, some of whom are non-Christians carry out in each country educational, social and cultural projects which are aimed at providing service and formation. These include schools, hospitals, universities and centres of professional formation

The first arrivals were two: a layman, Jeremy White from U.K. and a priest, Fr. Jose Domingo Gabiola, from Spain. The founder, St. Josemaría Escrivá, had sent them to open this path of holiness in daily life among Nigerians.

Bishop Javier Echevarría concluded his North American pastoral visit this week, telling 2500 members and friends of Opus Dei gathered in Houston that the sacraments are “a great help” for becoming holy “in the events of our ordinary life.”

At a gathering this past Sunday outside San Francisco, Bishop Javier Echevarría urged 1800 members and friends of Opus Dei to “get to know Christ” better.
