Opus Dei

On Monday 9th April the Vatican published an Apostolic Exhortation by Pope Francis on "The Call to Holiness in Today's World". The 46-page document takes its Latin name, "Gaudete et Exsultate", from the opening words, "Rejoice and be glad!" -- a quotation from St Matthew's Gospel (5:12).

On Saturday May 5, Cardinal Robert Sarah ordained 31 priests of the Prelature of Opus Dei in Saint Eugene's Basilica in Rome. "We ask the Lord to send us many holy priests," he said.

"Contemporary man goes to the priest seeking Christ," Cardinal Robert Sarah said in his homily at the May 5 ordination ceremony for 31 new priests of the Prelature.

Today Saturday 5th May 2018, 31 news priests of the Prelature of Opus Dei have been ordained in Rome by Cardinal Robert Sarah. Six of them are from Africa.

Anthony Elobuike Asogwa will be ordained to the priesthood along with 30 other faithful of Opus Dei by Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 5th 2018 in the Roman Basilica of Saint Eugene.

Next Saturday, May 5th, 31 faithful of the Prelature of Opus Dei will receive priestly ordination in Rome. The ceremony will begin at 10 am (Rome time), and will be streamed live on this web page and via Facebook and Youtube.
