Last June, a group of high school students from different parts of the United States traveled to Quisque, in the mountains of Yauyos, Peru. The aim of the service project was to help restore the local church and give English classes to children in the area.

Dr. Ernesto Cofiño, pioneer of pediatrics in Guatemala, earned a place in the hearts of thousands of Guatemalans with his work for children and for the development of women and underprivileged families. Now he also has a well-deserved place in the urban fabric of Guatemala City.

Let us pray that the death penalty, which attacks the dignity of the human person, may be legally abolished in every country.
