Bishop Javier Echevarría has made a brief pastoral visit to the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and Colombia.

A group of high school boys from Washington D.C. spent several weeks this summer in Peru restoring two small but artistically rich churches in villages high in the Andes, and teaching English and Catechism to the local children.

The founder of Opus Dei first visited London in 1958. He stayed from the beginning of August to the middle of September. He returned in each of the following years until 1962. A new series of books for mental prayer has just hit the shelves. Titled "Speak to Me", the series penned by Kevin de Souza targets the youth. Kevin has worked in the field of education for close to twenty years. His interaction with young people and their parents has helped him to understand the different challenges faced by the youth.

They are not special cases but they may be useful reminders for some of us of what it takes to raise a family.

It was on Sunday 17th August 2014, while driving some ladies from Ewaso Residence to celebrate a birthday party in Namanga (along the Kenya/Tanzania border), I had a rare experience.
