On Saturday May 8th, at 10 am (EDT), Bishop Javier Echevarría will ordain two Canadians, Julio Lagos and Anthony Griffin, to the priesthood along with 30 new priests from 13 countries.
The ordination will take place in the basilica of San Eugenio, in Rome, at 10 am (Eastern Daylight Time--4 pm Rome time). It will be presided over by Bishop Javier Echevarría, Prelate of Opus Dei.

The Canadian priests are:
Julio Lagos
After studying law at the University of Ottawa, Julio worked as a lawyer in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. In 2007 he moved to Rome to prepare for the priesthood and do a masters in Canon Law at the Pontifical university of the Holy Cross. After his ordination he will stay in Rome to complete his doctorate in Canon law.

Anthony Griffin
Montreal born Anthony completed his B.A. with a major concetration in philosophy at McGill university in 1999. worked for a major Canadian steel supplier to the North American auto industry for several years before moving to Spain to do a bachelor degree in Theology. In 2008 he started his masters in Philosophy at the Pontifical university of the Holy Cross in Rome while also preparing for the priesthood.
