About our Speakers
• John Haas is President of The National Catholic Bioethics Center of the United States. He has been Professor of Moral Theology in several seminaries, and has lectured extensively in the United States and other countries, including Peru, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, and Vatican City.
• Rev. Joseph Soria was St. Josemaria's personal physician for many years. Formerly Professor of Pastoral Medicine and Catholic Doctrine in the Pontifical Lateran University, he is author of more than 15 books and booklets, and more than 60 articles.
• John F. Coverdale is Professor of Law at Seton Hall University. He has taught history at Princeton and Northwestern Universities and has written several books on Spanish history. His latest book is Uncommon Faith: The Early Years of Opus Dei (1928-1943) 2002.
• Kara Johnson is Director of Character Education at Hawthorn School for Girls, an independent school in Toronto.
• Carlos Cavallé is Anselmo Rubiralta Professor of Business Administration at the IESE Business School, Barcelona. He is also Chariman of Euroforum El Escorial and president of several research centres. IESE's programmes are consistently ranked among the very best in the world.
• Jane Driver is certified in Internal Medicine and is continuing her training in Hematology and Oncology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She is Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, where she is involved in teaching and research.
• Clifford Orwin is Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto. His many publications include important books on Thucydides and Rousseau. He is a regular columnist for the National Post.
• Cecilia Royals is the President of The National Institute of Womanhood in Washington, D.C. She has testified before U.S. Senate and Congressional Committees and has addressed groups in many countries, including Argentina, Uganda, France, Spain, China, and Honduras, on issues pertaining to the status of women.
• Rev. Msgr. John Murphy is Chancellor of Spiritual Affairs, Archdiocese of Toronto. After receiving a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Toronto, he completed a Licentiate and a Doctorate in Canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University.
• Graeme Hunter is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Ottawa, and Professor of Philosophy and Literature at Augustine College, Ottawa. In 1998-99, he held the Father Edo Gatto Chair of Christian Studies at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
• M. Sharon Hefferan is Director of the Metro Achievement Center, an educational enrichment program for economically disadvantaged inner city girls in Chicago. Ms. Hefferan has dedicated her efforts to social programmes in New York, Milwaukee, Lithuania, and Chicago.
• Anthony Yeow was a founding member and is a board member of Toronto Youth Development, which provides academic and sports enrichment programmes for children in Regent Park, the largest public housing development in Canada.
