The Challenge of Helping the Disabled
The Sunshine Workshops is a recent personal initiative that has started to brighten up Saturday afternoons for a number of young girls in Vaudreuil-Dorion, a town located just west of Montreal, Canada. For the last 4 years, a group of young volunteers has been holding activities for mentally and physically disabled people in facilities loaned by a local rehabilitation center.

This is the second yearly Conference at Brennan Hall at the University of Toronto. The speakers for this 2004 conference came from Kenya, Congo, Peru and the Philippines focusing on some of the key challenges they face in their countries, especially poverty, the AIDS epidemic, and education. Each foreign speaker was supplemented with testimonies from Canadian speakers.
