THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3

The mortal remains of Blessed Josemaría will be in the Roman Basilica of St. Eugene for veneration by the faithful from October 3 to October 9. The Basilica is at n.10, Via delle Belle Arti.

Opening hours of the Basilica:

October 3 -- 3:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m.

October 4 -- 8:00 a.m - 9:00 p.m.

October 5 -- 8:00 a.m - 9:00 p.m.

October 6 -- 1:30 p.m - 9:00 p.m.

October 7 -- 2:30 p.m - 9:00 p.m.

October 8 -- 8:30 a.m - 9:00 p.m.

October 9 -- 8:30 a.m - 9:00 p.m.

There will also be an exhibition about the life of the new saint in the cortile of the Basilica on these dates.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4 9:00 p.m. Presentation about Project Harambee 2002 in the Auditorio dell'Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia (Via della Conciliazione, n. 4).

Project Harambee 2002 is raising funds for educational programs in Africa from people attending the canonization and from anyone else who wants to help. The coordinators are requesting that everyone coming to the canonization donate 5 euros, and are hoping that those who are able will donate more.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6

10:00 a.m. Solemn Eucharistic Celebration for the canonization of Josemaría Escrivá, presided over by Pope John Paul II in Saint Peter's Square.

12:00 p.m. Recitation of the Angelus with the Holy Father, with a greeting and blessing for the faithful.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 7

10:00 a.m. Holy Mass of thanksgiving for the canonization of Josemaría Escrivá in St. Peter's Square, celebrated by Bishop Javier Echevarría, Opus Dei's Prelate, and concelebrated by Opus Dei's various regional vicars.

11:30 a.m. Audience with His Holiness John Paul II

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8 &9

In the days after the canonization, various cardinals and bishops will be celebrating Masses of thanksgiving in Roman churhes, in 15 languages. Details can be found at www.escriva-canonization.org.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10

Two multilingual thanksgiving Masses will be celebrated in the Basilica of Saint Eugene. The first, at 10:30 a.m., will be celebrated by Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz. The second, at 5:30 p.m., will be celebrated by Bishop Javier Echevarría.

After the 5:30 Mass, the mortal remains of the new saint will be transferred to the Prelatic Church of Our Lady of Peace (Viale Bruno Buozzi, 75).
