Pier Giorgio Frassati didn’t just live... He lived with purpose, joy, and faith that lit up the world around him. His motto, "Verso l'alto!" (To the heights!) wasn’t just about the mountain climbing he loved. It was about aiming higher in everything.

Nothing to fear
We cannot help but be happy
Heaven is our true homeland
Nothing is more beautiful than love
Living without faith isn’t living

He teaches us that real happiness isn't found in comfort or success, but in something deeper. For Pier Giorgio, joy flowed from a heart rooted in God. Even in the middle of struggles, he had a smile that drew others in, because his trust in God and God's plan for him never wavered.

The mountains he loved reminded him that every challenge, every sacrifice, every act of love was a step upward, bringing him closer to his true home in Heaven.

And he never climbed alone. Pier Giorgio gave of himself generously. He poured himself out for the poor and the sick, showing that real love is ready to make sacrifices. Yet, in giving, he found a freedom and a happiness that nothing else could match.

Above all, Pier Giorgio knew that faith isn’t an accessory to life; it is life. Without faith, he said, we're only "getting by;" with it, we live fully. Faith gave him courage to stand firm and authenticity to live joyfully in a world that often goes the easy way.

Following Pier Giorgio means daring to aim higher, choosing joy, loving deeply, and climbing with God toward what matters most.
