More than four thousand university students are in Rome taking part in this year's UNIV Forum. Most of them attended the Pope's weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square on Wednesday, April 4.
Benedict XVI: “In particular, I greet all the students from different countries who are participating in the International Congress promoted by the Prelature of Opus Dei.”
The meeting, known as UNIV Forum has been held in Rome every year since 1968. It brings both students and speakers from all over the world, so they may experience Holy Week in Rome.
“Dear friends, I welcome you to Rome during Holy Week, so that you may live an experience of faith, friendship and spiritual enrichment. I invite you to devote these days to deepen your knowledge of Jesus, responding to the call of love He sends to each one of you. That being said, I'd like to remember what St. Josemaría once wrote: 'Everything that is done out of Love acquires greatness and beauty.' ”
This conference has been held for 44 years and it's organized by the Institute for University Cooperation. This year, its theme is "Pulchrum: The Power of Beauty."
