From 22 to 27 August 2026, Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz was in Uruguay, just a few months before the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the first members of Opus Dei in the country. He met with families, young people, and individuals from a range of educational and social initiatives. The chronicle, photographs, and videos capture some moments from those days.

Video of Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz’s visit to Honduras from 10 to 12 August. In San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa, whilst meeting with families, young people and the community at the Taular Institute of Technology, he emphasised the great value of everyday life because of the love that goes into it.

He spent six days in Guatemala, from 4 to 9 August. One theme came up in nearly every gathering: that happiness requires a heart in love, not necessarily an easy life. Having met with priests, young people, university students, and families in Guatemala, Msgr. Ocáriz now continues his pastoral trip on to Honduras and El Salvador.

On the occasion of his trip to Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Uruguay, the Prelate of Opus Dei invites us to reflect on unity and diversity within the Work, seen in the light of charity.

The final event of the Father’s pastoral visit to Central America with young people in San Salvador, in which they shared questions, stories and experiences with Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz on the topics of faith, vocation, forgiveness and friendship.

Msgr. Fernando Ocáriz spent close to a month in Pamplona. Before returning to Rome, he took part in a gathering attended by thousands of people, mostly families connected with Opus Dei’s apostolic activities in Navarre, the Basque Country, La Rioja, and Soria. It was held last Thursday, 23 July, at the University of Navarre’s sports center.

On the feast of Saint Mary Magdalene, the Prelate of Opus Dei invites us to renew our desire for conversion, so as to grow in love for God and for others.

Following the earthquake in Venezuela, the Prelate —through the Vicar of the Caribbean Region— assures those affected of his prayers and encourages them to bring faith, hope and peace to those around them.

The Prelate of Opus Dei invites us to go deeper into the virtue of poverty, as a path to interior freedom, love for God, and apostolic fruitfulness.

On the occasion of the Pope's first Encyclical and the ordination of priests in the Work, the Prelate invites us to deepen in our love for the Successor of Peter, with an eager desire to serve all souls.
