Opus Dei

Harambee, a charitable foundation established in 2002 on the occasion of the canonization of the founder of Opus Dei, launches fundraising efforts in NYC.

In 1975, Alvaro del Portillo succeeded St. Josemaría Escrivá as head of Opus Dei, carrying on his work with fidelity and dedication.

Opus Dei was founded in 1928 in Spain and is currently established in 66 countries.

The Prelate guides Opus Dei’s mission of spreading the universal call to sanctity and spurs forward the apostolic efforts of the Prelature’s faithful.

On July 5, 2013, Pope Francis signed the decree recognizing the miracle attributed to the intercession of Alvaro del Portillo, which opens the way to his beatification.
