The Vatican Press Information Office announced on the 16th of March that the website of the Holy See will begin its Chinese service on the 19th of March, Feast of St Joseph, Spouse of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary and Patron of the Universal Church.
The site will be presented in both traditional and simplified characters so that "Internet users from around the world will be able to navigate in Chinese to access the texts of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI," the Press Office statement said.
Chinese is the eighth language to join the Vatican web page, the others being Italian, English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Latin.
