Carlos Martinez: Fish Seller
Carlos Martinez, raised in extreme poverty, was an active member of the Communist Youth before the Spanish Civil War. He worked in a fish shop. After converting to Catholicism and joining Opus Dei, he dedicated much of his energy to improving the lives of local Romani (gypsies) and coal miners.

General and Regional Monthly Intention 2024-2025
The Prelate is suggesting that the faithful and friends of Opus Dei pray for this intention in a special way, from 2 October 2024 to 2 October 2025. The Region of East and South Asia also asks for all faithful and friends to keep the regional intention very much in mind in this period.
2 October: Sanctity in Ordinary Life
In 1931, Saint Josemaria wrote down what had happened on the morning of October 2nd, 1928, feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, when he first "saw" Opus Dei.
